 Maja Jezercë, 2,694 m ( 8,839 ft)

 Jezerca Peak (Albania Maja Jezercë) is the highest peak in the entire Dinaric Alps, the second highest in Albania and the sixth highest in Balkans.  It is one of the toughest if not one the most dangerous climbs in the Albanian Alps. However, Maja Jezercë is the 28th most prominent mountain peak in theEuropean continent.

Maja Jezercë is situated within the Accrused Mountain range, that is noted for several small glaciers.

Apart from certain areas north of the peak, the limestone mountain massif is part of the National Parks of Theth and Valbona Valley.

Jezerca is a large rocky peak of dolomitic limestone. There is almost no vegetation there. North, east and west of the mountain top is in great cirques from that in the glacial periods when glaciers were more extensive than today.

ITINERARY

Day 1: Getting together in Peja and transfer to Valbona ( Albania), and sleeping there.

Day 2: Climbing Maja e Jezercës and getting back in Peja.

 Korab is a mountain range in the eastern corner of albania and the wester part of Norh Macedonia, running along the border between both countries. The highest peak is Mount Korab at 2,751 m (9,026 ft) above sea level, and is the 18th most prominent mountain peak in the European continent. The mountains are composed of sedimentary rock, including shale, sandstone, dolomite and limestone.

The geology of the park is dominated by mountains made up of exposed faulted sedimentary rock and valleys containing glacial lakes.

Day 1: Getting together in Peja and transfer to village Radomir ( Albania), sleeping there.

Day 2: Climbing Mout Korab and getting back in Peja.

GENERAL CONDITIONS:

Clients need to be in good health and physically fit. Hiking takes place on varied terrain and sometimes paths are old, in bad condition and overgrown.

Please ensure you have:

comfortable, closed hiking shoes with ankle support recommended

minimum 2 liters water and snacks

daypack for carrying water and gear

waterproof jacket

sunscreen & sunhat

camera

small personal first aid kit / personal medication (your guide will carry a full first aid kit)

For hiking during the spring and autumn months please carry a warm layer of clothing and long trousers / gaiters are recommended. For each multi-day hiking tour you will be provided with a recommended kit list.
